About the producer: Friskatorpet in Rinkaby, just outside Åhus, there are the military training fields that have existed for over a hundred years. During these years, a flora of herbs and grasses has naturally been created which has adapted to the dry and barren sandy lands along Hanö Bay. Here the animals roam in so-called ranch management, where the animals are allowed to move freely outdoors all year round on large areas. The herd consists of 300 cows that each give birth to their calf between March and May. The calf follows its mother for 7 months before it is weaned for continued rearing until slaughter at approximately 24 months of age. Slaughter and cutting takes place at a small local butchery. The meat is hung for at least three weeks. The Angus breed is known worldwide for its high quality when it comes to marbling, juiciness and meat flavor.
