January is the perfect time to try something new and although traditional resolutions often fail, it makes sense that in the new year we have the opportunity to wipe the slate clean and start being our healthiest selves. We already have Dry January, but another option to start 2022 in a healthy way is Veganuary. As you might have guessed, this includes eating more plants and reducing animal products during the first month of the year.
Veganuary is the world's largest vegan campaign that inspires people around the world to eat vegan in January but of course also the rest of the year. The campaign does this by challenging participants not to consume meat, fish and dairy products for an entire month. Since 2014, the campaign has inspired and supported over one million people in 192 countries to take the pledge and challenge themselves to eat vegan in January.
A vegan diet excludes all meat, fish, dairy products, eggs and other animal products.
For some people it can of course be hard to cut out all of these things at once. Then try to focus less on what you have to opt out of and more on all the good things you can actually eat. There are so many well-made meat substitutes of various kinds today. You don’t have to cut out everything completely and at once. As with everything, it’s better if we do it our own way with what feels best for us personally.
The interest in plant-based alternatives to meat just continues and there are a lot of successful Scandinavian brands out there, like Oatly, Oumph, Anamma, Hälsans kök etc. More and more of us are becoming flexitarians choosing to give up meat a couple of days during the week.
Why not take a look at our meat/dairy/glutenless collections for inspiration. We are adding more and more products as we speak and they’re not just for January :)
