COPENHAGEN, THE CITY OF WORLD FAMOUS FOOD

Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark, is a vibrant and dynamic metropolis that attracts millions of visitors every year. The city boasts a rich cultural heritage, a thriving arts scene, and a wide range of tourist attractions and activities. It really is a world-class city to visit and if you haven’t been yet, make sure to put it on your bucket list for 2023.

One of the city's most famous landmarks is the Little Mermaid statue, which was inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale and has become an icon of Copenhagen. The statue is located in the harbour area of the city, which is also home to Nyhavn, a picturesque canal lined with colourful buildings, cafes, and restaurants. The harbour area is a popular destination for tourists and is also where you can catch a boat tour to explore the city from a different perspective. There’s something very special about experiencing a city by boat.

Another popular attraction in Copenhagen is Tivoli Gardens, one of the world's oldest amusement parks. The park is home to entertaining rides, games, and attractions, as well as beautiful gardens and several restaurants and cafes. In the evening, the park is illuminated with thousands of lights, creating a magical atmosphere that is perfect for a romantic stroll or a fun night out with friends.

Copenhagen is also known for its world-class museums and galleries, including the National Museum of Denmark, the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, and the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art where the country's rich history and cultural heritage, as well as contemporary art and design is showcased.

In addition to its cultural attractions, Copenhagen is also famous for its culinary scene, which features a wide range of traditional and modern Danish cuisine. From street food stalls to Michelin-starred restaurants, the city offers something for every taste and budget. The best-known and most popular restaurant is of course the world-famous Noma. Noma is a three Michelin-starred restaurant, widely considered to be one of the best restaurants in the world. The restaurant is known for its innovative Nordic cuisine, which focuses on seasonal and locally sourced ingredients, such as seaweed, moss, and reindeer. The menu changes with the seasons and the chefs at Noma use traditional techniques and modern technology to create unique and memorable dishes that showcase the flavours and textures of Nordic cuisine. Noma has won numerous awards and accolades for its exceptional food and service, and is a must-visit destination for foodies and gastronomes from around the globe.

Noma is amazing but lets not forget about the Danish classic smørrebrød. These open-faced sandwiches by themselves are a reason to visit Copenhagen. Fish dishes such as smoked salmon and herring, and traditional Danish pastries like wienerbrød and kanelbullar are also  very good reasons to visit this beautiful Danish city.
